What We Believe
So...we are quite diverse and have a whole range of theological and social perspectives. However, we love to wrestle with difficult questions, and nothing is "off the table." We are full of life and joy, and we delight in celebrating on a daily basis. We are sometimes innovative, sometimes hokey, but always authentic. We are human. We have a wide embrace, and we strive to remind others that they are included in God's boundless love.
Where We Come From
* We are followers of Jesus.
* We range in age from pre-school to over 90!
*We come from an array of ethnic backgrounds.
* We find ourselves in varying socio-economic realities, and do our best to meet one another's needs.
Join Us for Worship! (On Hold During Pandemic)
We gather to worship on Sundays at 10:30am.

Our worship gatherings are eclectic, entailing: good music, Jesus-inspired teachings, children's lessons, & prayer.

The Second Sunday of each month we have a Moravian service with Moravian music.

When in church, we enjoy a potluck luncheon after each service. Everyone is welcome to bring a dish to share.
Our church building is located at 5505 W. Lloyd St., Milwaukee, WI 53208 (enter the glass doors on 55th Street).

Time, Talents, Treasures
The church is a community that includes you! We have a variety of needs that we hope you can help fulfill. That could mean a monetary contribution or an investment of your time. Please pray about ways that you can give. Thank you.

If you are able to give money, we encourage you to set up automated contributions through your bank.

Sherman Park Ministries, Inc. Food Pantry
Every Thursday (except 1st Thursday of the month) at 8:30am

Food recipients may reside anywhere in Milwaukee (no zip code restrictions), and may get food twice a month at either Spirit of Peace on Thursdays OR at Good Shepherd Trinity on Tuesdays (but not at both places).
[Please bring an I.D. for all members of the household.]
We intentionally welcome LGBTQ individuals and others who may not have found a place in the traditional church.
LGBTQ Kinship
If you're a person who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning, you'll find a welcome in our church gatherings.

We acknowledge with much delight that the kin(g)dom of God is comprised of all types of people. Therefore, we consider all of our neighbors to be kin--no exceptions!

Each year, our congregation participates in Milwaukee's Pridefest. Look for our booth and come say "HI!"
[The Rainbow is a symbol of God's promise to love and protect humankind, and throughout the world the rainbow flag has been used to symbolize freedom, peace, diversity and inclusion.]

Moravian Partnership
Since 1999, the Moravian Church in America and the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America have been in a full-communion partnership. We assert that Jesus' call is for the church to be united, and acknowledge that Moravians and Lutherans share common theological traditions and commitments to mission. (Click to read the official document recognizing our full communion status.)

Over the years, this full communion partnership has led to many pulpit exchanges and some combined disaster relief efforts, but we have yet to see
manifestations of this partnership "on the ground." Spirit of Peace is intentionally undertaking such an endeavor. Pastor Christie Melby-Gibbons officially came on board as a part-time worship leader here in May of 2015.
