Love, Joy, Peace...
Let us breathe in and live out a spirit of peace
With thanks to God for the work accomplished in this place, I declare this congregation, Spirit of Peace Lutheran Church, to be closed in the name of the Creator God, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. —Bishop Paul Erickson Sunday, February 25, 2024
We intentionally welcome LGBTQ individuals and others who may not have found a place in the traditional church.
LGBTQ Kinship
If you're a person who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning, you'll find a welcome in our church gatherings.

We acknowledge with much delight that the kin(g)dom of God is comprised of all types of people. Therefore, we consider all of our neighbors to be kin--no exceptions!

Each year, our congregation participates in Milwaukee's Pridefest. Look for our booth and come say "HI!"

Moravian Partnership
Since 1999, the Moravian Church in America and the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America have been in a full-communion partnership. We assert that Jesus' call is for the church to be united, and acknowledge that Moravians and Lutherans share common theological traditions and commitments to mission. (Click to read the official document recognizing our full communion status.)

Over the years, this full communion partnership has led to many pulpit exchanges and some combined disaster relief efforts, but we have yet to see
manifestations of this partnership "on the ground." Spirit of Peace is intentionally undertaking such an endeavor. Pastor Christie Melby-Gibbons officially came on board as a part-time worship leader here in May of 2015.
